Female intimate surgery is an aesthetic procedure that is performed with the aim of improving the appearance of the female genital area, as well, as restoring its functionality. In fact, there is a wide variety of techniques that are adapted to each case with the objective of recovering its vitality.
If you experience any specific problem in your genital area that causes you pain, insecurity or that you feel may put your health at risk, you are a candidate for this operation.

Some of the most common reasons why many women opt for these types of surgeries include:

  • Anatomical modifications: Patients who present anatomical non-conformity of their genitalia that causes displeasure, discomfort, or embarrassment.
  • Postpartum anatomical modifications: After postpartum, many women may experience changes in their genitals, which not only affect their appearance, but also their functionality.
  • Anatomical changes over the years: The passage of years, and other hormonal processes in the body such as “menopause”, can cause changes in the female organs.

The recovery process and post-surgical care

The healing time for each procedure will depend on the type of treatment performed. These can be surgeries to remove excess skin, reconstructive surgery and laser treatments, among others. For this reason, recovery ranges from a few hours to a month.

The aftercare of each surgery is different and for this reason it is important to follow the surgeon’s recommendations in order to take care of the operated area correctly.

Since it is a surgery that involves a very delicate area, it requires special care to avoid infections and/or complications that may affect the result of the surgery.

  • Tight clothing should be avoided during the recovery time to prevent the genital area or the possible spread of bacteria that may cause some type of infection.
  • Hygiene is an indispensable part of the intimate area, because if it is not taken care of, infections and even diseases can originate. So after surgery, cleaning should continue, and even be much more careful when performing it.
  • Exercise, activities that require strength or a lot of movement, such as intimacy, should be paused during the postoperative period.
A period of rest should be maintained for at least 1 month (or for the time indicated by the surgeon) while the intimate area is healing. Gradually, these activities can be resumed to continue with the daily routine.
